The project “Smart system for Leak Detection for water supply Network of Aigio” implemented by DEYA Aigialeias, involves collaboration Laboratory of “Intelligent Technologies in Renewable Energy and Quality” of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of West Attica as research partners in Greece.
The funding for the project comes from the “Water Management” Program of the Financial Mechanism EEA Grants 2014-2021 and the Bilateral Relations Fund EEA Grants 2014-2021.
The Programme Operator of the project is the Special Service “Implementing Authority for NSRF YPEN, Environment Sector” of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy.
The objective of this project is the timely detection of leaks and, consequently, the optimal utilization of available water resources in the area. The goal is to ensure both the sufficiency and the quality of drinking water in the internal water supply network of the city of Aigio operated by DEYA Aigialeia. The project is implemented through three subprojects, which closely monitor water leakage in the network with the ultimate aim of reducing it. Through targeted actions and interventions within the subprojects, the existing infrastructure of DEYA Aigialeia is upgraded to achieve not only the efficient operation of the network but also the optimal water quality. This is beneficial for the health of residents and visitors and ensures maximum environmental protection.
